Seashore Sketch – CCMC #249

This week’s challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary is to use a sketch.

Now I’d like to think it was just a case of following the sketch and… ta da… job done! Ha, ha! Things are never that simple, well at least not for me. If I tell you I started with a green/yellow/white idea and then progressed to using papers from the Print Poetry stack, you’ll wonder how I ended up creating this:

I’m wondering too! I can only blame it on my current seashore obsession. I stamped the seashell on to the Whisper White using Marina Mist, then layered up all the papers, using the sketch to assist, before running the ribbon across. I stamped the label, taken from the Pop-Up Posies kit, and then added the seashell and starfish images. I’ve curled these too give a bit of added dimension. I also used Dimensionals to apply the label.

Love this beachy colour combination and adore the little pearls.

Playing with Print Poetry – CCMC#248

Another colour challenge over at Create With Connie and Mary. Here’s the colour pallette:

As the only supplies I had to match the colours was the Print Poetry DP stack and the Pop Up Posies Kit (just the centre brads, some of which are Summer Starfruit) it was time to dig deep into my creative brain. Here’s what it came up with:

P1030816

I’ve layered and pieced three of the papers from the stack to create the background, punched a large flower and added the brad to the centre.

P1030819

I created little blossoms using one of the Itty Bitty punches and gave them a dint in the centre so they stand proud of the card.

P1030818

I stamped the Happy Birthday onto more DP, again using paper from the Print Poetry stack (the one that is like a sewing pattern!).

Just for You – CCMC#246

This week’s challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary is another colour challenge requiring the use of Island Indigo,  Calypso Coral and Real Red. Again, the supplies available to me were limited but I quite like having to think about how to combine what I do have. On this occasion all I had in Calypso Coral was the flower in the Pop-Up Posies Kit and for Island Indigo I had ribbon and the Sycamore Street designer papers.

P1030640

Love the Real Red with the Indigo Island 🙂 I cut  and layered the paper and cardstock and then added three layers of petals from the Pop-Up Posies set. I decided to use a Real Red button for the centre instead of one of the brads in the pack.

P1030642

I ran a strip of ribbon down the side and added a little bow plus a flower using a stamp from the Spring Sampler set and some Real Red ink.

P1030639

The sentiment is also stamped in Real Red.

Sweet Cupcake – CCMC243 – Sketch Challenge

Today’s project that I’m sharing is for the current Create With Connine And Mary challenge which is based on a sketch. Hop on over and take a look as the Design Team projects are inspirational. I decided to use the Create A Cupcake stamps and an eye popping colour combination for my entry:

P1030396

I’ve created mats an layers from Designer Paper and cardstock, tucking in a flower from the Pop-Up Posies kit. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals behind the cupcake frosting and the cherry to create a little height.

P1030391

The sentiment is stamped onto a scallop circle and topped with a little bow.

P1030393

I love this colour combination probably partly due to the fact that it’s fairly similar to my football team’s colours of claret and blue!
