Just for You – CCMC#246

This week’s challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary is another colour challenge requiring the use of Island Indigo,¬† Calypso Coral and Real Red. Again, the supplies available to me were limited but I quite like having to think about how to combine what I do have. On this occasion all I had in Calypso Coral was the flower in the Pop-Up Posies Kit and for Island Indigo I had ribbon and the Sycamore Street designer papers.

P1030640

Love the Real Red with the Indigo Island ūüôā I cut¬† and layered the paper and cardstock and then added three layers of petals from the Pop-Up Posies set. I decided to use a Real Red button for the centre instead of one of the brads in the pack.

P1030642

I ran a strip of ribbon down the side and added a little bow plus a flower using a stamp from the Spring Sampler set and some Real Red ink.

P1030639

The sentiment is also stamped in Real Red.

Spring is in the Air – SUO #67

Today I a sharing a card that I’ve made for the current SU-Only Challenges which has the theme “Spring is in the air.” I’m ridiculously excited about my new blossom punch and Mixed Bunch stamp set, but even more excited about what I did with some Very Vanilla seam binding! (Little things! :))

P1030576

To me, nothing says spring like daffodils, so I thought I’d use the Mixed Bunch stamp along with Daffodil Delight ink and some Desgner Brights buttons to make some daffodil like flowers.

P1030578

I used subtles Designer Series Paper (so sad to hear Certainly Celery is going :() and Daffodil Delight cardstock for the background before popping on the flowers. I swept a Daffodil Delight inkpad along some Very Vanilla seambinding ribbon. I just love how that turned out – that colour is too scrumptious!

P1030576

To finish I stamped out the sentiment, using Pumpkin Spice ink, onto Daffodil Delight Cardstock.

Another colour challenge over at Create With Connie and Mary using this lovely colour palette:

create

Daffodil Delight and Marina Mist I have a plenty, but not quite the same can be said of Not Quite Navy (see what I did?!) only the ink pad. So, taking all that into account, here’s what I came up with:

P1030481

I used Not Quite Navy to stamp the toadstool image and to ink the edges of all the papers. I also used a waterbrush to apply colour directly to colour in parts of the image.

P1030480

My Stampin’ Up! supplies are also lacking in ribbon, so I used strips of designer paper and card instead. I had a slightly giddy moment when I remembered that I DID have some Designer Buttons in Brights so popped on one in Daffodil Delight as the finishing touch.

P1030479

Now I’m very excited because I’ve just had word saying my order from Stampin’ Up! will be delivered tomorrow. I shall be home alone to received it and enjoy it!!

Sweet Cupcake – CCMC243 – Sketch Challenge

Today’s project that¬†I’m sharing is for the current Create With Connine And Mary¬†challenge which is based on a sketch. Hop on over and take a look as the Design Team projects are inspirational. I decided to use the Create A Cupcake stamps and an eye popping colour combination for my entry:

P1030396

I’ve created mats an layers from Designer Paper and cardstock, tucking in a flower from the Pop-Up Posies kit. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals behind the cupcake frosting and the cherry to create a little height.

P1030391

The sentiment is stamped onto a scallop circle and topped with a little bow.

P1030393

I love this colour combination probably partly due to the fact that it’s fairly similar to my football¬†team’s colours of claret and blue!

Green, green and more green

Okay, so the clue is in the title! This card is all about the green and I shall be linking it up with the current challenge over at Papercraft Star which has the theme of … green!

P1030372

I used a selection of green papers from the Subtles Collection and cut them into strips. I’ve layered them up across the card making each one slightly shorter as I went along. I layered a couple more strips horizontally and topped them with a bow and a button.

P1030370

I punched out a scallop circle and then stamped and punched the thank you. I used dimensionals to layer these up.

P1030371

I love the combination of Very Vanilla and the Certainly Celery colours.

Going Green – SUO Challenge #65

I had another delivery of fab Stampin’ Up! goodies this week and couldn’t wait to have a play. I’ve also been looking out for blog challenges that I can link up with. Today I have been working on a card to share over at the SU Only Challenges blog which has the theme of “Going Green.” Here’s what I made:

P1030266

I have to confess to being totally in love with the Designer Series Paper Stacks, especially the spotty paper in Certainly Celery from the Subtles collection. I also used some of the Wild Wasabi from the same pack. I edged them all with Old Olive ink then layered them up. The top two layers are raised on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’ve run a strip of Very Vanilla seam binding across the card and popped on two little Designer Buttons.

P1030264

I stamped the snail in Old Olive, punched out using the circle scallop punch and edged with more ink before adding the button. I used a Stampin’ Dimensional to lift the whole thing.¬†¬†The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty stamps – I had to cut it out as I don’t have the matching dies – yet!!!!

P1030263

The finishing touch was to add the bow.

P1030268

P1030267

The majority of my rapidly expanding Stampin’ Up stamps are the clear ones rather than the wooden mounted. I LOVE how these come packaged like DVDs. It makes storage so easy and means that they don’t get lost.

Thanks for buzzing by and check back here soon as I have lots more to share with you ūüôā
