Sketch Challenge – CCMC #247

Another sketch challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary and a lovely one it is too:

And here’s my interpretation:P1030695This card incorporates some of my favourite Stampin’ Up! goodies – the paper from the Print Poetry pack is one of my favourites, I don’t know what I’ll do when its all gone! However, the Artisan Embellishments Kit is so delicious I know I’ll have to get at least one more. I love the Primrose Petals Seam binding that’s included. I crinkled it up to tuck behind the flower.

One thing that I’m not quite sure about is why I have a whole pack of Primrose Petals cardstock. Don’t get me wrong, it’s lovely, but I know it’s not what I intended to order. However, neither can I think what I meant to order!!! Never mind, it’s been put to good use here.

P1030691

You can’t really see the Very Vanilla DSP that makes up one of the layers. The funny thing that neither could I whilst I was making the card, it was only when I came to photograph it in proper light that I could see how fab it really is.

Don’t you just love that flower embellishment. Please, please Stampin’ Up make all the elements of this kit available separately!

All about the colour – CCMC#242

Today I am sharing a project I have made for the current challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary This week there is a colour theme using colours from the latest Stampin’ Up! In Colour series:

untitled2Aren’t those colours scrumptious? However, this really was a challenge for me as, being new to Stampin’ Up!, I’ve been building the basics of my stash and the only thing I had with this particular colour pallette was the Print Poetry paper pack and a raspberry ripple stamp pad. So no ribbons, no buttons, no colour-coordinated card, no lace … Here’s what I made:

P1030293

Once I’d layered up the papers, I punched out circles of cardstock and then petite scallop circles from the spotty paper. These were mounted using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the butterfly stamp from the Collage Curious set and the Raspberry Ripple stamp pad on cardstock and then puched out using the Scallop Circle Punch. This has also been mounted on Stampin’ Dimensionals and tucked a couple of paper strips underneath. I did make some paper bows but they just didn’t look right.

So I managed to work with what I had and feel quite pleased with myself for doing so. However, the other “me” is now hankering after a load of new stash from the In Colour Collection – especially loving the look of those Dahlias.

For You – CCMC241

Today I am sharing a birthday card that I have made for a friend with a birthday this week. I will be sharing this over at Create With Connie and Mary who have a fab site with tons of SU inspiration. The current challenge has a sketch to follow. Here’s what I came up with:

P1030273

I used paper from the Print Poetry pack and edged them with Midnight Muse ink. I stamped all the images onto card before punching them out and then mounting them on squares. I’ve used Stampin’ Dimensionals on both layers. I’ve made a nice puffed up bow using seam binding and added pearls for the finishing touch.
