Playing with Print Poetry – CCMC#248

Another colour challenge over at Create With Connie and Mary. Here’s the colour pallette:

As the only supplies I had to match the colours was the Print Poetry DP stack and the Pop Up Posies Kit (just the centre brads, some of which are Summer Starfruit) it was time to dig deep into my creative brain. Here’s what it came up with:

P1030816

I’ve layered and pieced three of the papers from the stack to create the background, punched a large flower and added the brad to the centre.

P1030819

I created little blossoms using one of the Itty Bitty punches and gave them a dint in the centre so they stand proud of the card.

P1030818

I stamped the Happy Birthday onto more DP, again using paper from the Print Poetry stack (the one that is like a sewing pattern!).

Sketch Challenge – CCMC #247

Another sketch challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary and a lovely one it is too:

ccmc247

And here’s my interpretation:P1030695This card incorporates some of my favourite Stampin’ Up! goodies – the paper from the Print Poetry pack is one of my favourites, I don’t know what I’ll do when its all gone! However, the Artisan Embellishments Kit is so delicious I know I’ll have to get at least one more. I love the Primrose Petals Seam binding that’s included. I crinkled it up to tuck behind the flower.

P1030693

One thing that I’m not quite sure about is why I have a whole pack of Primrose Petals cardstock. Don’t get me wrong, it’s lovely, but I know it’s not what I intended to order. However, neither can I think what I meant to order!!! Never mind, it’s been put to good use here.

P1030691

You can’t really see the Very Vanilla DSP that makes up one of the layers. The funny thing that neither could I whilst I was making the card, it was only when I came to photograph it in proper light that I could see how fab it really is.

P1030692

Don’t you just love that flower embellishment. Please, please Stampin’ Up make all the elements of this kit available separately!

Spring is in the Air – SUO #67

Today I a sharing a card that I’ve made for the current SU-Only Challenges which has the theme “Spring is in the air.” I’m ridiculously excited about my new blossom punch and Mixed Bunch stamp set, but even more excited about what I did with some Very Vanilla seam binding! (Little things! :))

P1030576

To me, nothing says spring like daffodils, so I thought I’d use the Mixed Bunch stamp along with Daffodil Delight ink and some Desgner Brights buttons to make some daffodil like flowers.

P1030578

I used subtles Designer Series Paper (so sad to hear Certainly Celery is going :() and Daffodil Delight cardstock for the background before popping on the flowers. I swept a Daffodil Delight inkpad along some Very Vanilla seambinding ribbon. I just love how that turned out – that colour is too scrumptious!

P1030576

To finish I stamped out the sentiment, using Pumpkin Spice ink, onto Daffodil Delight Cardstock.

Going Green – SUO Challenge #65

I had another delivery of fab Stampin’ Up! goodies this week and couldn’t wait to have a play. I’ve also been looking out for blog challenges that I can link up with. Today I have been working on a card to share over at the SU Only Challenges blog which has the theme of “Going Green.” Here’s what I made:

P1030266

I have to confess to being totally in love with the Designer Series Paper Stacks, especially the spotty paper in Certainly Celery from the Subtles collection. I also used some of the Wild Wasabi from the same pack. I edged them all with Old Olive ink then layered them up. The top two layers are raised on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’ve run a strip of Very Vanilla seam binding across the card and popped on two little Designer Buttons.

P1030264

I stamped the snail in Old Olive, punched out using the circle scallop punch and edged with more ink before adding the button. I used a Stampin’ Dimensional to lift the whole thing.  The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty stamps – I had to cut it out as I don’t have the matching dies – yet!!!!

P1030263

The finishing touch was to add the bow.

P1030268

P1030267

The majority of my rapidly expanding Stampin’ Up stamps are the clear ones rather than the wooden mounted. I LOVE how these come packaged like DVDs. It makes storage so easy and means that they don’t get lost.

Thanks for buzzing by and check back here soon as I have lots more to share with you 🙂
