Green, green and more green

Okay, so the clue is in the title! This card is all about the green and I shall be linking it up with the current challenge over at Papercraft Star which has the theme of … green!

I used a selection of green papers from the Subtles Collection and cut them into strips. I’ve layered them up across the card making each one slightly shorter as I went along. I layered a couple more strips horizontally and topped them with a bow and a button.

I punched out a scallop circle and then stamped and punched the thank you. I used dimensionals to layer these up.

I love the combination of Very Vanilla and the Certainly Celery colours.

The Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration event only has four days left to run. If you spend  £45 you could get the  The Pretty Petites stamps or the  Petite Curly Label Punch for FREE!!!! Get in touch if you are interested.

For You – CCMC241

Today I am sharing a birthday card that I have made for a friend with a birthday this week. I will be sharing this over at Create With Connie and Mary who have a fab site with tons of SU inspiration. The current challenge has a sketch to follow. Here’s what I came up with:

I used paper from the Print Poetry pack and edged them with Midnight Muse ink. I stamped all the images onto card before punching them out and then mounting them on squares. I’ve used Stampin’ Dimensionals on both layers. I’ve made a nice puffed up bow using seam binding and added pearls for the finishing touch.

Take a deep breath and say “thank you”

So here goes. My very first Stampin’ Up! post. At the end of last year I started thinking about becoming an independent demonstrator for Stampin’ Up! Then I decided I would place an order and have a play with some of thheir products. However, the deal for coming a demonstrator at the same time was soooo good, it would have been rude not to! And here I am. You may already be familiar with my other blog Mrs Beez where I blog about crafty endeavours on a daily basis. Over here, it’ll be all about Stampin’ Up! I’m hoping to share a project with at least once a week. If you like what you see you can place an order, join a virtual club or ask me to arrange a workshop just for you! You can also visit my Facebook page.

One of the things I liked about Stampin’ Up! was their colour collections. You can, if you like, make everything match and you can make the same item in a whole rainbow of colours. So the first project I am making is a little set of thank you cards.

I got the idea from Dawn’s Stamping Thoughts blog. Hop on over – you’ll find loads of inspiration, ideas and videos for using Stampin’ Up! products. These little cards I my take on her February thank yous.

I’ve used papers from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack in Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Marina Mist and So Saffron. All the papers are double sided and you can get them in Brights, Neutrals and Regals as well as two “in colour” collections. They are lovely quality – more like thin card. Love ’em!

I used two different patterns on the outside and a third on the inside. I thought it would be nice to have a coloured inside to write on.

I stamped out the “thank you” from the Pretty Petites stamp set. This set is available as part of  Sale-A-Bration – 25 years of Stampin’ Up! Spend £45 and you can, if you choose, get these for free!! I didn’t quite have ALL the the matching stamp pads but got pretty close using the selection I got in the Classic Stampin’ Spots set and just had to substitute Daffodil Delight instead of So Saffron. Once stamped – and I have to say you get a beautifully clear impression – I used the Petite Curly Label punch which is designed to match the stamps perfectly.

The punch is also available in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue, but you can also buy it if you wish. I stuck the punched shape on using some 3D foam, just on one side so it acts as a place holder – a  bit like when you make an easel card. That’s all there is to it! So cute and colourful.

So a big thank you to Stephanie-Emma, who has taken me on as part of a team and is probably the most helpful upline ever and a big thank you to the lovely Dionne for linking us up! Hope you like them and hope you’ll buzz back here often. Keep stamping! (If you live in the UK that’s supposed to be a bit like Strictly!)
